How can a 13 year old write a resignation letter?

I am 13, and I work at Burger King, I love it! Except, I have difficulties with transportation now, and also I would like to apply for A&W which is closer to where I live, and there is more pay. How can I write a resignation letter without sounding rude, and disrespectful? Please give me tips and more helpful answers, and in Canada, in the province./state I live in, 13 year olds are allowed to work as long as we have social insurance.

  1. try using big words and looking more mature
  2. tell the truth
  3. Just tell them that you cant get back and forth anymore and will be putting in your two weeks notice. They dont care, fast food places have such high turnovers anyway.
  4. Is it even legal for you to be working at a restaurant at that age? What state are you in?
  5. First of all it is illegal for you to work? You have to be 14 atleast.. Second, just state that you have numerous problems and unable to continue.
  6. google an example then.
  7. How did you get a job at 13?!?!? NO FAIR!!!!!!!!
  8. Screw you burger king A&W is the shit! They'll understand. Just quit and go to A&W?
  9. just explain that you have trouble getting to work and you are looking for something closer to home. but 13 and working? may i ask why?
  10. try To whom it may concern, Due to transporation problems and a heavier school workload I am tendering my resignation effective immediately.
  11. Dear <boss> Many thanks for giving me the opportunity to work at BK. However, I have recently been having difficulties with transportation and so reluctantly I have made the decision to resign and to look for work closer to home. I've really enjoyed my time here, and I hope my leaving won't inconvenience you. Regards, <you>
  12. Just tell your boss that another job opportunity opened up that you are interested in. Tell him or her "thank you" for the chance to work for them and that you enjoyed your job.
  13. I didn't know you could work at 13. BUT, just be honest with your employer. You can say what you said here without attacking them, and if you give them notice this allows them to make arrangements for when you leave.
  14. In your letter say about how school is beginning to require more work and that you're sorry to have to resign your job at BK but you have to concentrate on school and studies. They'll understand that school's more important.
  15. Dear _____: With this letter I am tendering my resignation from my position at _______ effective ________ (give them two weeks). Thank you for the opportunity to work at ________, I feel I've learned a great deal and am grateful for the experience. Sincerely, ________ Just a suggestion, apply for and get the job at A&W before you resign if that is possible.
  16. just walk to manager and give a 2 week notice--that should do it--and that is how everyone dose it
  17. WOAH ur really 13 and u have a job?!??!?! that's awesome, i should get off my lazy @$$ and get a job too.....i'm almost 15 and i was thinking about working at like A&W or McDonalds or some crappy place cuz they're close by my house.........or there's this lil asian restaurant by my house too.....hmmmm AnYwAyS!!! i have no idea......................just tell ur boss that u quit but, give like a 1 or 2 week notice...... there's no need to write a letter but, if you want.....just say something like that you need to get a job closer to you and that you're having transportation problems and stuff like that. your boss/manager will understand! g'luck!
  18. Dude... it is BURGER KING! Just quit. They don't need any letter of resignation. But you want to make sure you get hired on with A&W first. Around here, you couldn't get a job with either one being you are only 13! Did you lie about your age?? I don't think you can work for either one here unless you are at least 16.
  19. Thanks for a great job experience. Due to personal reasons, I must resign. My last day of work will be..... Sincerely.....
  20. there breaking the law just by employing you.... so just write adios.........
  21. Think about how it would be to work there full time and for EVER... Think about the fact that you might get an education, and be able to move on up to kfc or mac“s
  22. how do get a job as a 13 year old? you need to make sure you tell your employer what you feel. but seriously, how did you get a job as a 13 year old?
  23. idk wut that that is anyways y do u need a job im 13 and i would never even think of that and u like it? plus i didnt even kno that bk let u work there if ur 13 wow
  24. At 13, you'll be forgiven for just "quitting." And at 13, the even better question is how are you legal to work? Is there a state that allows you to work that young?
  25. your 13 and you work???? dear sir/madam, i am writing this letter to inform you that i am resigning from my post as of (insert date). i have enjoyed my time working for the company, and have made many friends here. may i take this opertunity to wish you many thanks and good luck for the future....
  26. To whom it may concern, I (your name here) wish to turn in my resignation as of( give at least a week notice here if you can (12-16-07). You don't have to explain why. You can put the current date on it and sign it and it's just that simple.
  27. 13 and working? There's something wrong with that picture. My daughter's 13 and I won't let her lift a finger unless it's for school or to play chess or practice her violin (and, of course, do chores). I question your parents as far as the child labor goes. For shame! As far as the resignation letter, don't write one. You're too young. Give your two weeks notice and be done with it. Study really hard in school and never go back to BK or anything like it again. Get a good education and go into a career that has a future. Good luck. ATTENTION: Stay far far away from "Robin" up above. It's a scam and, Robin, you've been reported for attempting to solicit to a minor, jerk off!!!
  28. Honesty is never disrespectful or rude if worded in a short and simple letter like. I am giving my resignation with much regret, as I enjoyed working for you at Burger King, but it is far from my residence and I have lost my transportation to work. I am sorry if I have have caused any inconvenience to you, but I have to find employment closer to my home.
  29. Obiviously, it is not legal to employ you at Burger King or anywhere including A & W. In case you do want to practice writing a resignation letter, simply thank them and say sorry for the inconvience that may be caused to them by your leaving the organisation for the transport problems faced by you. etc..
  30. How can you possibly even work at anyplace at the age of 13. What country allows thirteen year olds to work legally? NOT THE U.S.A. Hey Jim first of all...NO SH*T!!! second of all if YOU would read the whole question you would see that she added where she lives after most of us had already answered the question. So SHUT THE HELL UP!!
  31. Wow, a lot of you guys must not have read her full question! Didn't you see that she lives in Canada? I don't see what is so wrong with that... If I were 13, I wouldn't mind getting a first job to earn a little extra $.
  32. Dear (manager name), I am writing you to officially tender my resignation from Burger King effective Monday, December 15th, 2007. Working for Burger King has been a wonderful experience. I could not ask for a better group of colleagues. I have grown in many ways here and will always treasure the opportunities provided for me by Burger King. While I will miss my friends here at Burger King, I feel that it is time for a new challenge and experience. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Best Wishes, Thirteen year old girl
