UAE Labor Law about Unlimited type appointment?

I got a job in Dubai Free zone company while i was on a visit to UAE after qualifying thier tests and interviews. They offer me the job via appointment letter which i accept and signed. The HR person guide me to go back to Pakistan and the company will get a visa and email to me on my email within 12-15 days. After getting appointment letter and by accepting it, I put my resignation on my current job in Pakistan and get back to Pakistan. Now I Contact the company and they told me that they hold the appointment and cannot send the visa. I lose my current job too. Can any body help me out in this situation what should i do???? In my contract the period of job is unlimited.

  1. Many times when I advise people not to come here on a visit visa to look for a job and search for a suitable job online instead, I receive thumbs down. At least if you would have done it that way, you would not be in a messed up situation right now, because you would have resigned your job in Pakistan after receiving the employment visa. Also if I do understand your frustration because an offer letter is a binding contract, there is nothing you can do then just hoping that the company will not put their offer on hold for to long. Free Zones do not fall under the UAE Labor Law. If you would be in the country you could try to complain at the FZ Authorities, but........... All the best.
  2. instead of complaining here u should try to withdraw ur resignation there and retain ur present job. this is due to the economic down turn in the world and in dubai too. ur offer is only an offer untill a binding contract is signed. is there any time limit set in the agreement for the company to arrange for ur visa. i dont htink so . then if they delay ur visa u cant blame them .
