Advice on an unreasonable boss, and transfer of dept.

I work for a company as an IT technician/consultant with a very unreasonable boss. I'll give you an example: I had knee surgury before and was still required to come into work less than 24 hours afterwards, and she was yelling at me about not doing anything, when I had already done everything that I could. I ended up switching some projects with co-workers (of the same level and title) so that they could do the stuff that I couldn't and vice versa, and she still ended up yelling at me saying that I wasn't doing anything or not doing what I was supposed to be doing. Anyway, I need help and/or advice. I recently quit my job, let's refer to it as job 1 and transferred to another department, job 2. The company that I work for can't do direct transfers so I needed to quit job 1 in order to be hired for job 2. So, I quit job 1, gave my unreasonable boss a 2 weeks notice, a typed resignation letter, talked to her about my transfer, and she became really mad about me leaving for another department. She said that I should of talked to her first about the transfer, and whether she approved of it or not. Afterwards, she threatened to go to upper management and tell them to not approve the transfer and therefore I would be out of a job. Also my boss has power to a certain extent because of her ties to the CITO (Chief information technology officer). Can she really do this without a valid reason besides the fact that she doesn't approve of me transferring? I feel that it is not her call whether I want to transfer departments or not. HELP, any advice would be great. One last thing to add, after our talk, she called and sent out an email to my soon to be new bosses at job 2. In it she kept ranting about how she does not approve of the transfer and that it is not right for her employees to just give her notice that they're either quiting or transferring without talking to her first and whether she approves of it. I feel that it is my choice to transfer or not and I should not need her approval. I followed protocol and gave her 2 weeks notice and everything. She also dropped specific names in the email, mainly mine. HELP, any advice would be great.

1. If your old boss can successfully block your transfer to job #2, you don't want to work for that company anyway. Start searching for a job at another company. When you find one, you will be glad you did. Grandpa
