Resignation letter while on AML?

I am currently on AML, but have decided I no longer wish to return to work. Can someone please give an example of a resignation letter, I seem to only speak baby now!! Also, seeing as my daughter is not allowed in the office (H&S. Honestly) and I therefore cannot resign face to face, is it acceptable to email my resignation? Many thanks for your help.

  1. Best thing to do is call your boss and tell them, then follow up with letter or e-mail. This is best cause when spongy brain subsides you may want your job back. They may ask you in for an exit interview but thats about it. Letter should just read "thanks for the opertunity, i really enjoyed myself working at so an so's but now my attentions need to be directed towards my child so i hereby resign as of xyz date." Somthing along those lines keep it short and to the point. Enjoy your children there not young long.
  2. I resigned when on additional maternity leave. I wrote a letter and delivered it to my boss at a prearranged time. Could you arrange to meet somewhere outside of work with them, even if just in works carpark? I too couldnt take my child in with me, but we were allowed to meet in reception area. I put something along the lines of "It is with regret that I will not be returning to work once my maternity leave is over. I have enjoyed the pst 5 years working at ......... , but feel that i need to take this new opportunity of being a full time mother."
  3. I work in an office like that, however if you call your boss to advise them of your intetions then they prob would allow you to come into the office with a letter and baby, or they would confirm on the phone if it is okay to email. I think phone call is the way to go then letter as first guy put would be fine.
