Should I add in the resignation letter that I am requesting my end of service payment?

Where I work there is end of service. For each year of work, you get a basic salary. Basically I have been working in it for almost 2 years.. 1 year and 8 months precisely. I hate my job and though I should give a month of notice I am just gona give 2 weeks. Should I include in the letter that I am requesting the end of service?

  1. 8 months is nearly a year for a 12 year old, not an adult. Severance is a gift from the employer to you, not a right. Do not ask for it, do not expect it and do not whine when you don't get it. You may need to use them as a reference on a future job and you don't need a reference that calls you petty.
  2. Yes, absolutely. You should include in the letter that you are requesting the end of service payment.
  3. I wouldn't. Not in the resignation letter. Once you're done your letter give it to your boss or supervisor but mention to the account/payroll/whomever does your paychecks. Just say something like "I have given my 2 weeks notice and I would like to request my end of service payment."
