I may have been caught at work stealing?
Ok, so I work at a service station and whenever friends come in I would not scan everything and give somethings away for free. Now I heard off a friend that knows someone in the company that they know that someone is knocking stuff off at work and that they have it all on tape. They know it was me. I haven't been questioned about it yet. Currently I'm on annual leave. I'm thinking about handing in my resignation letter today. What to do? Do you think they will pursue a court case? I do pretend to scan it each time so I don't know how much they can prove. I myself haven't pocketed anything. It has been items such as drinks, candy bars, phone credit, smokes over a period of possibly a year. Ok, so they called me up and left me a voicemail asking what dates I plan to resign. Don't know if it's a trap or what. Should I just not go back? Or call them work a week then leave?

- It really depends on your employer and what kind of company you work for. If it's a big corporate company, they will most likely press charges (and they have every right to). A smaller company might just ask you to resign and leave peacefully. You might be overlooking this. It's normal to feel very paranoid when you know you did something wrong. At least you have a conscience. :) Good luck.
- Use the barny frank routine : deny, deny deny.
- that is stupid..why would u do that ..to be cool? DUMB!!!!
- If you are going to quit, make a full disclosure to your boss, and offer to pay for the items that were stolen.I find that honesty is the best policy, and your boss may accept your disclosure and resignation and not take it any further. Nothing is worth a police record, and if we are talking about candy bars here don't worry about it.If it is tankfulls of gas it may be another story.but my advice is make a full disclosure. The police may already be involved, so i would not do anything dishonest because there may be a trap.
- Commonly known as stealing as a servant. Aren't you a silly bugger for doing this for your friends. They walk away with the goods and you walk away a criminal record. Sucks doesn't it ? If you are questioned about this during your leave or your return to work or after your resignation and they have the evidence, it is what you say and do at this point that will make the difference. I don't suppose you have any idea on the value of all the goods you filtered over the counter ? This will be a bone of contention. Hope you have or may have learnt a lesson. Crime does not pay.
